Ron Shaw donates 10K to CEDF Scholarship Fund |
The Community Economic Development Fund (CEDF)
recently received a $10,000 donation from Ron Shaw, President and
CEO of Pilot Pen Corporation, to expand a scholarship fund that was
originally established in the amount of $25,000 in honor of his
keynote address at CEDF’s 10th Anniversary Celebration.
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide a training opportunity
and offer new resources to low-income owned and high risk small
businesses through participation in CEDF’s training program. The
short workshop model has recently been launched to offer a new level
of nontraditional business training on how to manage a small
business. Through this program and the scholarships now available,
small businesses throughout the state will have a tool available to
maximize their potential for healthy growth and success.

CEDF will be
moving its offices to 965 East Main Street in Meriden in May of 2008. The new
location, on the site of the former Lane Construction building,
will make us more centrally accessible to community partners and clients
throughout the state.
