MyCTSavings logoIf you own a Connecticut business with five or more employees and do not offer a qualified retirement savings plan, state law requires that you provide a retirement savings option by August 31, 2023.  Employers can also provide a private retirement plan to comply with the law, or the Office of the State Comptroller is offering MyCTSavings, a retirement savings program for employees, with no cost to employers to sign up.

       Jessica Muirhead

Jessica Muirhead is the Director of MyCTSavings, a state-facilitated retirement savings program for employees who lack access to a retirement benefit through their workplace. The program was created by state legislation in 2016 to help employees easily and automatically save for a dignified retirement. Jessica joined the effort in 2020 through the Office of the State Comptroller and oversaw the execution of the program from establishing its operational structure and business contracts, outreach and marketing, a pilot phase in 2021, through to full launch statewide in March of 2022. A Connecticut and Hartford County native, Jessica has found fulfillment in a career of public and non-profit service at the Brown University, the University of Connecticut, the Capitol Region Council of Governments, and the Connecticut Office of the State Comptroller. Jessica is also a UConn alumna twice with a BA in Psychology and Executive MPA from the Department of Public Policy.

       Lisa Kidder

Lisa Kidder is the Strategic Communications Manager for the MyCTSavings Retirement program in the Office of the State Comptroller.  She joined the program in January 2023 to increase outreach to the business community for the state-facilitated Auto-IRA program.  As a communicator, Kidder has worked in advertising, marketing, and public relations in both the public and private sectors, has owned a communications consulting business, and early in her career, worked for advertising agencies. She holds a degree in Journalism from the University of Kansas and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.  Kidder has extensive experience in collaboration with business and industry groups.  She is a Habitat for Humanity volunteer and was a founding board member of the Education Foundation in her community.
