Heidi Lane is the Legal Director at the Connecticut Department of Labor and has served the Department for 31 years and state government for 37 years. She provides legal counsel to the executive administration, directors and staff at the department. Her areas of expertise include: FMLA, Paid Leave, personnel files, misclassification of workers such as independent contractors, meal period regulations; electronic surveillance and monitoring, and minors in the workplace.

       Erin Choquette

Erin O'Brien Choquette is the Chief Executive Office of the Connecticut Paid Leave Authority, having previously served as the Authority’s Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Prior to joining the Connecticut Paid Leave Authority, Ms. Choquette worked at the Department of Administrative Services for 14 years, in various roles including directing the agency’s legislative and general legal functions.  Ms. Choquette practiced law for several years at Robinson+Cole, where she focused on employer counseling and the litigation of employment-related claims as well as disability insurance litigation.
